FP-200 Blade Change Video

Instructional video for changing blades on Nitta’s FP-200 series finger punchers, used to make finger-prepared ends for Nitta LVR-60 and other materials in our Carryflex (CFTG) product line.

Glossary of Terms

BOR — Belt on Roller (Belt is driven by motorized pulley).

MDR — Motorized Drive Roller.

SBOR — Segmented Belt on Roller.

Gapper — Series of five to six short conveyor stages in sequence, each successive belt cartridge moves faster (FPM) than previous stage, creating gap between parcels.

Carryflex — Nitta tradename for belts with aramid cord tension members used in live roller and sortation conveyor applications, totally encapsulated in Polyurethane, no raw edge or exposed fibers.

CFTG — Prefix used in nomenclature for Nitta’s Carryflex aramid cord line of belting.

Conveyor Cartridge — Individually powered cartridges that include conveyor belt, powered roller, support roller.

Merge — Merge conveyor segments insure constant product flow by coordinating all infeed and funneling functions. Cartons are moved from merge area onto the Induction conveyor leading to Sorter.

Cross Belt Sorter  — Short BOR module running at right angle to primary conveyor travel, discharging packages to destination bins.

Narrow Belt Sorter  — Up to eight narrow belts running in parallel, moving parcels down line.

Live Roller Belt  — The Nitta Carryflex / CFTG series, belt runs underneath & in contact with conveyor rollers, providing the friction/drive element to conveyor.

Induction  — Found in Linear Sortation systems, Induction belts minimize the space between parcels and maximizes the flow onto the sortation conveyor.

Sortation Conveyor — Composed of narrow width, high tensile strength belts, running in parallel. Belts often reach 300 feet or more in length.

Powerturn Belt  — Engineered design and specially fabricated conveyor belt traveling a 15 to 180 degree radius.

Shoe Conveyor — Modular belt with Plastic “shoes” that traverse the width of the belt to divert parcels to a particular shipping point collection area.

IMR — Inverted Motorized Roller: See Nitta TA12-BK.

Metering Belt  — See “Gapper.”

RAT (Right Angle Transfer) — 90 degree flow path change, pop-up belts at 90 degree divert angle.

Diverter — Pop-up Wheel Sorter or Pop-up Belt Divert Sorter. Wheels or conveyor section elevate to divert product up to 90 degrees to direction of conveyor belt travel.

Micro-Fulfillment Center — Downsized storage area for grocery items, automated storage and retrieval of goods enabling vendors to deliver product within hours of order entry.

Elastic Belts — Nitta PolySprint conveyor belts that can accommodate up to 10% stretch; Polysprint eliminates the need for conveyor take-ups.
